FOR THE APEX WORLD TITLE
Slickster vs. Big Bruno Baxter
The match was one that everyone had been waiting for. Both men came out strong as they both strove to win the APEX gold. Bruno started things off first by just pounding on Slickster. Slickster though hung with Bruno and fought back after a poke to the eyes. Slickster followed this up by a kneelift that sent Bruno to the mat. He picked him up and attempted a suplex, but Bruno countered with a suplex of his own. Both men got back to their feet at the same time and went at again with fists of fury. Slickster gained the advantage when he executed a leg sweep and then dropped a fist right to the forehead of Bruno. About that time Mark Sanders appeared at ringside. For a while all he did was stand there and watch the match. Slickster was obviously distracted by his presence. Bruno flung Slickster to the ropes and nailed him with a running lariat that sent Slickster down hard. Mark Sanders at this time started to smile with approval. As Bruno wasted time with pumping the crowd up and signaling for the Big Bruno Drop, Slickster amazingly made it to his feet and nailed Bruno with a low blow. He then threw Bruno outside the ring. About this time Spoogie and "The Intimidator" ROD JOHNSON made their way to ringside. They kept their eyes on Sanders the whole time they were there. Bruno began to choke Slickster. This was a very uncharacteristic move. Spoogie got up on the apron to argue with the ref. Bruno released the hold and began to argue also. About that time Mark went to hit Slickster with a chair. ROD saw this and went after him but it was too late. After Spoogie caught site of this he ran over to where ROD was beating Mark into the ground and proceeded to help. While all this was going on Bruno pinned Slickster in the middle of the ring to win the APEX World Title.
